TUMBLEWEED FLORAL DESIGN approaches floral design
as a study in composition and experience,
creating environments that feel rooted in place and
quietly refined.

a peek behind
OUR name

Tumbleweed speaks to movement. To design that feels alive, instinctual, and shaped by season.

We curate the rare. We honor what is fleeting. And we translate nature’s scarcity into refined, sculptural floral work that leaves a lasting impression.

Our philosophy

Beauty is intentional.
Atmosphere is everything.

Flowers are not decoration. They are atmosphere. They shape the way a space feels, the way light settles, the way a moment is remembered.

We work with restraint, honoring the season and selecting elements for their character rather than abundance. Each material is given space to speak.

No two gatherings are alike. Every design is informed by its setting, its rhythm, and the subtle details that make it personal.

Our approach is guided by instinct and refined through discipline, resulting in work that feels considered, natural, and deeply connected to the moment it was created for.

Our dream clients

DRAWN TO ARTISTRY

You value thoughtful design and trust the creative process.
Florals are not an obligation, but an opportunity for expression, and you welcome interpretation beyond the expected.

GUIDED BY SEASON

You are drawn to what is fleeting and naturally available.
You understand that the most compelling designs are shaped by seasonality, and that beauty is never mass produced.

LED BY FEELING

You care how a space feels as much as how it looks.
You see florals as atmosphere, shaping memory, movement, and mood into something immersive and lasting.

MORE ABOUT KAYLIA

Our founder & Creative Director

  • Born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, Kaylia is deeply influenced by the landscapes and lifestyle of Northern California. Her work is shaped by a strong sense of place, from coastal textures to sun-warmed gardens, and a deep familiarity with the region’s most celebrated venues.

She has designed for a wide range of settings across Northern California, building trusted relationships with planners and creative partners along the way. Each project is approached with a fresh perspective, resulting in floral compositions that feel considered, distinctive, and aligned with the overall vision of the celebration.

Flowers are an inherent passion for Kaylia. She has always had a deep affinity for the colorful beauty springing from nature, finding pure delight in her own childhood backyard amongst the many perennials and garden roses her family tended. Kaylia loves the endless possibilities, vibrant fragrances, and ever-changing fragility of fresh blooms, always looking for new ways to explore floral composition and break away from the expected.

  • Kaylia studied visual design and the arts at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City, where she developed a strong foundation in color, composition, and visual storytelling.

Her early career in fashion, including work with retailers such as Anthropologie and Bloomingdale’s, further shaped her understanding of how design influences experience. This background continues to inform her approach to florals, where balance, movement, and restraint are just as important as beauty.

Over time, her work has evolved into a practice that blends classical training with an intuitive, exploratory perspective, resulting in designs that feel both refined and unexpected.

  • Kaylia’s work is known for its natural movement, layered texture, and a slightly undone sensibility. She approaches each design with a sensitivity to tone, creating compositions that can shift seamlessly from understated and classic to sculptural and directional.

Her work is developed in close consideration with the full design story, ensuring florals feel integrated with the setting, materials, and overall experience of the celebration.

She is especially drawn to locally sourced and garden-style materials, favoring elements with movement, character, and a sense of seasonality.

By incorporating distinctive botanicals, seasonal materials, and unexpected elements, her work invites guests into an environment that feels layered, immersive, and thoughtfully composed.

Outside of design, her world is shaped by family, slow mornings, and an ongoing appreciation for the beauty found in everyday life.
